This Privacy Policy explains how Copper Onyx, LLC (“Copper Onyx,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit copperonyx.com (the “Site”) or contact us. Copper Onyx is a digital venture studio.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide. If you subscribe to The Build Log, our email newsletter, we collect your email address so we can send you updates on new Copper Onyx ventures, beta invites, and lessons from building them. MailerLite also records the date and time you subscribed and the IP address you subscribed from, along with an approximate location based on it. If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include (such as your name and message).

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and the date and time of your visit. This helps keep the Site secure and operational.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we do not request payment information through the Site.

2. How we use information

• To send you The Build Log you subscribed to (you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email);
• To respond to and follow up on emails you send us;
• To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site;
• To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.

3. How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share it with:

• Service providers that help us run the Site — such as Netlify (website hosting), MailerLite (our email/newsletter platform), and Proton (our email provider) — under obligations to protect it;
• Authorities or other parties when required by law, or to protect rights, safety, or property.

4. Third-party services

The Site relies on a few third-party services that may process limited data under their own privacy policies:

• Netlify — website hosting;
• MailerLite — hosts The Build Log subscriber list and sends the newsletter; your email address is shared with MailerLite when you subscribe.
• Proton — our email provider; messages you send to inquire@ or privacy@copperonyx.com are handled by Proton.

5. Cookies & tracking

The Site does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics on the Site. The Site itself sets no cookies, and the only thing stored in your browser is the signup-form identifier described below. If our practices change, we will update this Policy.

The Build Log signup form is provided by MailerLite. When you scroll near the form or move into it, your browser loads the form’s code from MailerLite’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser details like any web server. The page also sends MailerLite a simple form-view count that carries no cookie or stored identifier. The form’s code saves a random identifier in your browser’s local storage, which is sent to MailerLite with your email address only if you subscribe. Build Log emails sent through MailerLite may record whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, so we can understand what readers find useful. You can limit this by turning off automatic image loading in your email app.

6. Data retention

We keep your email address on The Build Log list until you unsubscribe. After that, MailerLite keeps a record that your address unsubscribed, so you aren’t emailed again. We keep messages you send us for as long as needed to respond and for legitimate business or legal purposes. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see “Your rights”); for The Build Log, that fully erases your address and its history from MailerLite within 30 days.

7. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. To make a request, email privacy@copperonyx.com. We will respond as required by applicable law. We do not sell personal information.

8. Data security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International visitors

We are based in the United States. We and our service providers may process information in the United States and in other countries, including the European Union and Switzerland. If you access the Site from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those countries.

11. Third-party links

The Site links to other websites, including our ventures and social profiles. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; please review their policies.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version, and any material changes will be posted on this page.
